Confessions of a doubtful mind

We have discussed how we should choose a network marketing company also some of the aspects of the trainings they provide. Here I want to list some of the most common questions people have in mind before saying yes to any business.

1) I have heard that the company is a fraud?

The most important of this question is “I have heard”. If the company was fraud it would have been in the news already. People tend to have very dubious sources of information. All I can suggest is just listen to all the facts and figures given out by the person and then verify it on the net or news in order to have a clear picture.

2) The products are too expensive no one will buy them?

As far as I am concerned – All costly things are not good but all good things are costly. Before jumping to any conclusion just listen to the person and understand the correct usage pattern of products. Without correct usage the products would always be expensive.

3) I don’t have time. My job does not give me time for anything else.

Very few people build a network marketing business full time. So everybody manages a full time job and the business together. It is just the matter of deciding your priorities and start taking action. You have to decide whether the short term gain is more important or a life of excellence for you and your family in the time to come. Even with the short term gain are we spending enough time with our family? Are we always there for them when they need us or we are with them when our office allows?

4) I have enough money. I don’t need to work on anything extra

You will find that very less people would be satisfied with their pay and their job. People here should understand that in a network marketing business we try to create wealth and not money. You may have a decent amt of cash stacked up in the account but how many days will it last after you stop working. Please do not get scared but we will all definitely see more recessions in our life time. Do you have the surety that your job will be safe? Please don’t start digging the well after the tap runs out of water. Start digging the well slowly but surely so when the tap runs out or gives less water you will always have a back up option.

5) How will I sell the products/services?

No company asks you to go door to door for selling products. They have their own methods to sell products and you would be adequately trained on that. You should not worry about the training part. As far as Selling is concerned we have been selling ourselves in some or the other form all our life. Job interview, college interview, Marriage proposals, finding new girlfriend all are forms of selling only. The only diff is that it is sub conscious selling. We do sell a good movie, a good restaurant and we sell a bad restaurant to even more people than a good one. All companies stress on the fact that you use the same selling techniques and gain some rewards out of it.

6) How will I do the networking? How will I find people for my business?

Let us take an example – Do you know 10 people in your city. Will each one of them knows at least mutually exclusive 10 people? Now if you do the calculation you will have a list of good people at all times. The only thing you have to do is to qualify them. That process would be taken care in the training modules also.

7) It does not work. My uncle’s friend’s wife tried it and it did not work for her?

Please keep in mind there are networking marketing companies who have been operating for the past 50 years. And one cannot run for that long time by chance. We all know people who have given entrance exams like IIE-JEE or CAT. We also know people who gave the exam but did not clear it. But have we heard anyone who failed saying that IIT is bad or IIM is bad. No what we see is that they start preparing even harder for the next year. It is this level of commitment which is required in any business be it traditional or network marketing. So if someone says that it did not work for him then either he did not follow the system correctly or he was not patient enough.

8) What if the company changes the business model? What will happen to the current partners?

To be very frank I don’t know answer to that question. But I have rarely seen companies changing their business model overnight. I am sure companies of good repute will not leave their business owners hanging in the middle.

9) What if I loose money in the business?

Most of the network marketing companies I have seen either have a very low entry fees or you have to buy products worth a minimum amount to become a business owner. In both the cases you don’t loose money. The only case where people feel they have lost money is that they buy too much paraphernalia to support the business. We should keep in mind that good companies normally do not tend to promote such expenses. So when people say they have lost money either the company is bad or the person himself made a mistake.
